We all want our children to succeed academically, to be able to follow their passion in the arts, to be accepted by their peers, to be safe, to be well prepared for post-secondary education and career – to experience the best education possible. These are your goals and they are the goals of Perpich Arts High School, too.
Layered over those very immediate issues, the parents of those students who will be living on campus share another set of must-haves. You want strong supervision, good nutrition, 24-hour safety, good personal support systems, and exceptional communication. We provide these very important services and support.
By reading the Student/Parent Handbook thoroughly, you will begin to see the amount of thought and preparation Perpich Arts High School goes through year in and year out to educate and protect your students.
If you talk to Perpich students, almost inevitably they will mention how accepted and safe they feel at Perpich, both physically and emotionally. They will talk about creating and living in a community with other teens very unlike each other in some ways (big city, small town, different ethnicities, religions, family structures) but united in their passion for the arts and their respect for one another’s efforts in the arts.
We believe our students graduate with unusual levels of maturity, self-respect, and respect for others, excellent preparation for their post-secondary lives, and the ability to use their arts education experience in amazingly original ways. We are proud of them and we know you are even more so.
Parents and students are required to read the Student/Parent Handbook to become familiar with school policies, information, and disciplinary actions. After reading the Handbook, please sign and submit the Agreement form. Questions on the handbook and/or the agreement should be directed to Student Services.
Infinite Campus is an online parent portal that gives parents secure, electronic access to their students’ records. Teachers and staff at Perpich use this system to provide families with consistent and reliable communications about their children’s progress.
Parents can view attendance records, test history, schedules, grades, assignments, and personal information. Personal learning plans can be accessed on Infinite Campus. High school transcripts are also available. Students will receive their Infinite Campus login information on their first day of the school year.
Parents will be emailed their Infinite Campus Portal Registration Key and some directions to follow to use the key to register for their portal account. Parents will also receive the registration information via mail, but only need to electronically register once.

FEDERAL REGULATIONS ON MEALS SERVED IN SCHOOLS
Regulations regarding school lunches are available at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) – Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) website’s page for the “Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA).” The site includes documents that can be downloaded, access to meal pattern information, instructions and “best practices” that schools around Minnesota are doing in relation to school meals and HHFKA.

Perpich offers several opportunities to be a parent volunteer. It’s a great way to become more involved in the Perpich community and get to know other parents, as well as faculty and staff.
Performances at Perpich are ticketed events. Dance, music, and theater may charge a small fee for performances. Parents are recruited to sell tickets and pass out programs for the performances. You can volunteer in advance or you can wait for emails sent out before performances to enlist volunteers.
EXHIBITS AND FAIRS
Perpich occasionally takes a table at an art event, festival, or fair to promote the center, inform teachers and artists of our professional development activities, and to recruit for the high school. When possible, we like to include parent volunteers to help at the table and to share their experiences with prospective parents. Parents interested in volunteering at exhibits and fairs should contact Admissions at Perpich Arts High School.
Every year Perpich brings in prospective students to go through their admission reviews. Prospective parents wait in the atrium, usually feeling nervous on behalf of their students. We ask current parents to stop by to chat with waiting parents to ease their apprehension or, if the parent volunteers prefer, they can help the review panels bring students in and out for their reviews, time spontaneous activities, and provide general support for the staff. HOST FAMILIES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Perpich has a history of student exchange with international schools. The school works to find host families to allow them to experience American family life and work on their English skills.
Information about international hosting opportunities usually is sent directly to parent emails with more information on times and dates, along with guidelines to help host families. Questions about international hosting can also be directed to the high school.
